THE UNITY CUP


OVERVIEW:
The Unity Cup is an annual men’s golf competition between teams from National Christian Golfers Association (NCGA Tour) and the Good Men Golf Association (GMGA). The competition is contested every year at a neutral venue in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Inaugural cup was held in 2014.

FORMAT (All Match Play):
The cup is played over two days. There are 24 matches. A win is worth 1 point; draw is worth 1/2 point. 12.5 points to win and 12 to retain the cup.
Day 1: 8 matches – Scrambles
Day 2: 16 matches – Singles

TEAM QUALIFICATIONS:

Each team is composed of 16 Players. The NCGA has three qualification categories.

  •  Automatic Bids: (3) – Reigning Player of the Year, Club Champion, and Match Play Winner.
  • Points: (11) – Top 11 on the current year Points Standing as of September 30. This would exclude those already qualified through automatic bids.
  • Captain’s Picks: (2) – The Team Captain would select 2 players who have not already qualified.
    All must be an active members with at least 5 tournaments in the current season.
